Sónia Borges

Illustrator and author of the project CASAhome.

(Mirandela, 1981) graduated in Painting from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto in 2004.

Freelancer illustrator, who stands out for her drawing with the 0.4 pilot pen, always linked to stories, already has some edited books and several illustration projects. The following stand out: O Vermelho de dar Dó, written by Cristiano Gouveia (Brazil); the Mural Andorinha (Porto) and the Activity Sheets for Families that accompany each exhibition at the Serralves Foundation Museum of Contemporary Art (Porto).

 

She held several solo exhibitions, the last of which took place in 2019 at the Hostel Gallery entitled Permutação

She is also an artist-educator, as an external collaborator in the Educational Service of the Museum of Contemporary Art of the Serralves Foundation since 2007. She designs and mediates workshops for different audiences, always prioritizing the relationship with contemporary art and enhancing a good experience in the museum. The O Porto a Ler project (partnership between Serralves and the Porto City Council) stands out, with the workshop Uma História por Correio, which involved eight classes / schools in the city, during ten sessions throughout the academic year where it was promoted writing and reading (2013-2018).
